Fernando specialises in biodiversity and botany, with particular interest in rare and endemic species conservation and critical habitat.
His current focus is biodiversity and mitigation hierarchy studies for mining companies and he is keen to extend TBC’s participation in BES projects in Brazil.
Fernando has more than 8 years’ experience in environmental licensing coupled with a solid project management expertise. For much of this time, Fernando was a biodiversity consultant at Golder Associates, developing biodiversity baselines and ESIAs for the major mining projects in Brazil and Peru. He is familiar with international BES and offsetting frameworks (e.g. IFC PS6, BBOP, WRI) and has participated in environmental studies in compliance with IFC PS6 standard.
Fernando is Portuguese native speaker and speaks Spanish and English.
