Ashley Bang
Principal Consultant
Ashley is a Principal Consultant who applies her expertise in spatial and statistical data modelling techniques to address the nexus between climate, nature, and business. With a background in conservation ecology, she is passionate about developing practical and science-based frameworks to inform corporate nature and climate strategies.
Before joining The Biodiversity Consultancy, she was the Head Data Scientist at ADM Capital Foundation, an Asia Pacific-based environmental & sustainable finance think tank. She led projects that evaluated the biodiversity impacts of investments, assessed physical climate risks to financial portfolios, and modelled climate change impacts on Asian fisheries.
As a former Fulbright Scholar and NOAA Hollings Scholar, Ashley has led research in marine conservation and coastal resilience. Her research has taken her from developing coral reef conservation strategies in Taiwan to identifying key habitats for juvenile salmon in Alaska.
Having grown up in East and Southeast Asia, Ashley speaks Korean and Mandarin in addition to her native English. She holds a degree in Geology and Biology from Brown University and is currently pursuing an MSc in Sustainability, Enterprise and the Environment at the University of Oxford.
