Ed is a behavioural ecologist and conservation scientist with over 15 years’ experience in gorilla conservation and behaviour.
At the biodiversity consultancy Ed works in the Sustainable Infrastructure team to help clients, particularly mining companies, in the integration of nature and biodiversity into decision-making.
Before The Biodiversity Consultancy, Ed worked at the Bristol Zoological Society, where he taught conservation science and led a conservation programme in Equatorial Guinea. As part of this role, Ed managed a long-term monitoring project on large mammals using camera traps.
Ed’s research and conservation work led him to spend 5 years conducting fieldwork in various African countries, including South Africa, Gabon, Uganda, Rwanda and Equatorial Guinea. He is also bilingual in English and Portuguese, with advanced French and can get by in Spanish.
