Emma Hemmerlé

Emma Hemmerlé works as a nature-based solution researcher at The Biodiversity Consultancy. She is a biodiversity conservation and natural environment management specialist, with a particular interest in the nexus between conservation and human well-being. In addition to having carried out an undergraduate degree in Biodiversity Conservation, and a master’s degree in Sciences and Management of Nature, Emma has experience working on nature conservation, particularly looking at sustainable wildlife use, the design of nature-based solutions including avoided loss and restoration projects, and marine protected area management, within research organizations, NGOs, and at the science-policy interface. Emma also has experience working with intergovernmental organizations through her experience at the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization in the field of fisheries and aquaculture management.

Emma speaks French, English, Spanish and Italian, and has lived in France, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Italy.
