As Managing Director, Katherin’s priorities are directing people and operations and providing strategic guidance to the board to ensure that we achieve our mission. Our over-arching aims – the pursuit of an ecologically sustainable future and the integration of nature into business decision-making – are her key sources of motivation.
She also draws inspiration from her amazing colleagues, peers and clients within the nature and business space. She believes that the right people, equipped with the right skills and driven by the same core purpose values, are the core ingredients of The Biodiversity Consultancy's success and drive for impact. So no surprises that sets a lot of store by recruitment, people development, team happiness and client experience.
Katherin is an experienced manager of people and projects. She has significant experience of recruiting, selecting and managing high performing teams. She also brings senior brand and communications experience and expertise to The Biodiversity Consultancy, with a particular focus on making scientific material come alive to non-technicians.
Prior to The Biodiversity Consultancy, her background is publishing and communications and she has over 15 years’ experience of bringing technical material to life for specialists and non-specialists, with experience spanning NGO and publishing sectors, in roles focused on communications. She started her career in book publishing before joining the Royal National Institute of the Blind, the UK’s leading charity for anyone with a sight problem, where she lead publishing, magazine, web and internal communications teams.
Even with a masters in Linguistics, Katherin is basically a monoglot, but can just about get by in Spanish and Greek.
