The Biodiversity Consultancy at COP16
The Biodiversity Consultancy will be at COP16 from October 21st to November 1st, 2024, in Cali, Colombia. Representing our team will be Chief Innovation Officer - Malcolm Starkey, Strategic Director of Nature Finance - Sam Lacey, and Technical Director of Nature Finance - Grant Rudgley.
COP16 is set to be a pivotal moment for advancing the global biodiversity agenda. As the first conference following the adoption of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework at COP15 in 2022, it marks the next step in turning ambitious targets into action. The COP15 framework established goals for 2030, including the protection of at least 30% of the world’s land and oceans and the restoration of 30% of degraded ecosystems. At COP16, discussions will center around translating these commitments into concrete strategies and securing the financial resources required for successful implementation.
The Biodiversity Consultancy team will work closely with corporate leaders, financial institutions, and biodiversity experts to foster meaningful partnerships that accelerate progress towards a nature positive future through practical solutions that help fulfil your sustainability goals. We will also be actively involved in key events, including:
-
Nature Positive Initiative events on nature metrics
-
Launch by the Biodiversity Credit Alliance of principles for high integrity biodiversity credits.
-
UNEP-FI event on Driving Finance for Biodiversity Conservation
-
And there is more to come.
If you are attending and would like to meet one of our team, please get in touch.
