Fatality estimation for wind and transmission infrastructure

The Biodiversity Consultancy provides specialist support to estimate bird and bat fatalities linked to wind turbines and transmission infrastructure, both onshore and offshore. This might require different approaches for the pre versus post construction phases.

We can identify relevant mitigation measures and work with projects to prepare post-construction monitoring plans to validate fatality estimates on the ground. This includes supervising monitoring and building capacity in country, analysing data, and advising on adapting the migitation response if necessary. We also offer expert advice on emerging approaches to assessing and mitigating risks in the marine realm.
